The City of Ammon is happy to welcome Lance Bates as their new City Engineer. Lance comes to Ammon from the City of Twin Falls where he served as their Public Works Director for the past 5 years. He has over 10 years experience in the field as well as maintaining a current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Idaho with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Montana State University.
The City Engineer directs the operation of the following:
- Sanitation - garbage collection
- Water Supply and Distribution
- Streets
The City Engineer also has the responsibility to oversee and implement the following:
- Standards for construction of subdivisions and public works projects
- Standards for water quality, storm-water, floodplain, waste-water (sewer) and other environmentally regulated systems within the City.
Lance is assisted by Rick Williams and Jason Clapp, who run the day to day operations of the Public Works' crews.
