Station tours and fire education requests

If you are interested in scheduling a station tour or would like to schedule a time for the firefighters to visit your facility please call our Prevention Office. Through our Community Education Program, our firefighters would like the opportunity to deliver our message to your group, no matter how big or small.

Please be safe at home!

You've heard of the dangers of placing electrical cords under carpets or rugs because of possible damage to the cords that may cause an electrical fire. Some studies now show that placing anything on top of a cord can cause a heat build-up, which can destroy the insulation on the cord and start a fire. Be careful not to pile clothing on top of a digital clock radio cord in the bedroom or laundry room. Don't stack utility rags on top of a retractable power cord left in your workshop. And watch out for bedding material that is rubbing up against electrical outlets in your children's bedrooms.

Address Coordination

WE CAN’T HELP YOU IF WE CAN’T FIND YOU!

If you, a family member, an employee, or customer needed emergency assistance, would firefighters or other emergency responders be able to find your exact location?

You’ve heard it before, but it’s true. every second counts in an emergency. Precious time is lost if your address is not posted so that it is visible from the street that accesses your home or business. The City of Ammon’s Fire Code requires that each structure, whether it is a home or business, have an address and that the address be visible from the street.

If you have any questions regarding the street numbers on buildings and related Fire Code address requirements, please contact Ammon Fire Marshal at 552-2487.
