Department Operations

The Ammon Fire Department is a combination department comprised of two full-time firefighters and an on-call force of 40 compensated firefighters. The department requires that all firefighters attain IFSAC Fire Fighter Level 1 certification within their first year. These men and women serve the city of Ammon in a most professional manner and will continue to do so through ongoing training and development.

ISO

The Insurance Services Office (ISO) provides a Fire Defense Classification to the insurance industry related to a community’s capability to deliver fire protection. Insurance companies use this classification to determine insurance premium rates for its customers. In Idaho, this data is collected by the Idaho Surveying and Rating Bureau through an inspection every few years. This inspection results in the community receiving a rating from 1 to 10. A rating of 1 indicates the highest level of fire protection and a rating of 10 indicates no fire protection available. Ammon Fire Department currently maintains a Fire Defense Classification rating of 4.
